Support

• Turn on Windowed Apps or Stage Manager (Settings › Multitasking & Gestures).
• Tap Start Loupe and confirm screen sharing, then put the Loupe window beside the app you want to read, for example by dragging a window to the edge of the screen to tile them. The Loupe window shows that app translated, in its original layout.
• When the other app goes full screen, Loupe keeps going as a Picture in Picture window.
• All four reading scopes work on iPad.

Language packs come from Apple and are shared with the system's translation features. Each language is about 140–440 MB (Japanese to English, for example, is about 200 MB), and parts you already have aren't downloaded again. Loupe never starts a download on its own: when you tap Download language pack on the home screen, or Download in Languages, Loupe first shows the languages and the approximate size and asks you to confirm; then the system asks once more. Choose Not Now and nothing is downloaded. Wi-Fi is recommended. Once downloaded, translation works offline.

Switch to another app; the window usually opens then. If it still doesn't, return to Loupe, tap Stop Loupe, and start again. On iPad, while the Loupe window is visible beside another app, the translation shows in the Loupe window itself, and Picture in Picture opens only when Loupe goes to the background.

• Tap the language chip on the main card of the home screen (it shows e.g. Auto-detect → English) and check that the language pack for the text on screen has finished downloading. If Loupe finds a language without a pack, the top of the window tells you which one to download.
• With the Near the window scope, place the window right below the text. Or try Whole screen.
• Loupe detects the source language automatically. If it picks the wrong one, for example Japanese written only in kanji, tap the language chip and choose the language yourself under Source language.

Some apps protect their content from screen recording, such as certain streaming video. iOS hides that content from all screen sharing, so Loupe can't read it. Speech captions may still work there (see below).

Subtitle mode (Loupe Pro) shows translations as a large-type text panel in the window instead of placing them back in the page. On the home screen, tap the Display chip on the main card, just above Start Loupe (it shows In place until you switch), and choose Subtitles. You can also use Settings › Display, or on iPad the Display button in the Loupe window's toolbar while it shows the translation. Turn on Show original to add the source text above each line. Without Loupe Pro, choosing Subtitles opens the Loupe Pro screen; after you buy, you're back on the Display page with Subtitles selected.

• Fixed area: the window is a wide strip (2.5:1). New lines appear at the bottom and older ones move up and dim, like subtitles.
• Near the window and Whole screen: the window is a 16:10 card that lists the text in reading order. When you scroll the page, the panel slides along with it, and what you've read stays above, dimmed. With Reduce Motion on (Settings › Accessibility › Motion), it fades instead of sliding.
• On iPad, while the Loupe window is on screen, the panel fills that window.
• If your subscription ends while Loupe is running, subtitles stay on until you stop Loupe; the next session shows translations in place.

Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Public and hotel Wi-Fi often isolates devices from each other, and some routers block it too — in that case turn on Personal Hotspot on the iPhone or iPad running Loupe (iPad needs a cellular model) and join it from the other device, then open the link again. Type the address exactly as shown, including the port and the code after it. The link is new every session, so a link from an earlier session stops working; open the current one from the Loupe home screen. Stopping Loupe ends the stream.

With Display set to Subtitles, the web page on the other device shows the recognized text and its translation as text you can select and copy, and scrolls to follow your reading position. If you scroll the page yourself, it stops following until your reading position is back in view. The page keeps the text you've already read on the current page, up to 64 items and only in memory, and clears it when the page changes or you stop Loupe. With In place, it shows images of the translated screen as before. Either way, nothing leaves your local network.

Speech captions turn what's said, in the sound other apps play or by people around you, into subtitles, translated or in the original language. Subtitle mode (Loupe Pro) is a display option for screen translation: it shows the translated text on screen as a large-type panel. Speech captions are included in the free plan's 5 minutes a day; Loupe Pro removes the time limit for both.

Switch to Speech, set Audio Source to Nearby Speech, choose the spoken language and tap Start Listening. Loupe uses the microphone to caption and translate what people around you say: a conversation, a talk, a guided tour. No screen sharing is needed. Captions fill the screen in large type; switch to another app and they continue in Picture in Picture. If Picture in Picture can't open, for example because another app is showing its own, listening stops and you can start again in Loupe. Tap End to finish; with Save Transcripts on, the session is kept in Transcripts.

Only Nearby Speech uses the microphone, and Loupe asks the first time you tap Start Listening. The sound is recognized on your device and never recorded, saved or uploaded, and Loupe stops listening when you tap End. Screen translation and Phone Audio never use the microphone. If you declined, allow it in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone.

• Make sure the video is still playing. Some apps, like Safari, pause playback when you switch away; tap play again.
• Some apps stop or mute their sound while the screen is being shared. Loupe can't hear those apps.
• Check that screen sharing is still on (the indicator in the status bar). If you hear speech but the captions look wrong, check the spoken language under the language chip.

iOS hides video that an app protects from screen recording, but the sound is often still shared, so Speech captions can work where screen translation can't. Some apps mute or pause when screen sharing starts, and Loupe can't caption those. Either way, captions are shown only on your device and nothing is recorded.

iOS shows one Picture in Picture window at a time. If your video app opens its own Picture in Picture automatically when you leave it, that window replaces Loupe's and the captions stop. Turn off automatic Picture in Picture in the video app's own settings, then start captions again. Loupe tells you on the home screen when this happens.

The app is available in English, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 日本語, 한국어, Tiếng Việt, Español, Français, ไทย, Deutsch, Português (Brasil), Türkçe, Bahasa Indonesia and العربية. You can translate from the languages supported by Apple's on-device translation, including Japanese, Korean, Chinese, English, Spanish, French, German, Thai and Vietnamese. Speech captions recognize English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German and many more spoken languages; choose the one that's spoken.

All four reading scopes and Speech captions (both audio sources) are free, with translations shown in place. The free plan includes 5 minutes a day in total for both modes. Time only counts while Loupe is actually translating: for screen translation and Phone Audio, while it works on another app; for Nearby Speech, while it is captioning speech. It resets at midnight local time. Loupe Pro removes the daily limit and adds Subtitle mode, which shows translations as a large-type text panel, with the original if you like (on the home screen, tap the chip showing In place, then Subtitles).

Open the Loupe Pro screen (or Settings in Loupe) and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy.

Open the Settings app › your name › Subscriptions, choose Loupe and cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

No. Text recognition and translation happen entirely on your device. Screen content is never sent to us or saved as screenshots or recordings. The only exception is LAN Live, when you choose it: the translated screen (as a picture, or as text subtitles in Subtitle mode) goes straight to the devices on your local network that open your link, not through any server of ours. For Speech captions, Phone Audio recognizes the sound other apps play without using the microphone, and Nearby Speech uses the microphone only while you're listening. Either way, sound is recognized on your device and never recorded, saved or uploaded. Caption transcripts are saved only on your device, never uploaded, and you can delete them anytime. 语言包由 Apple 提供，和系统的翻译功能共用。每种语言约 140–440 MB（例如日语译成英语约 200 MB），已经有的部分不会重复下载。透镜翻译不会自己开始下载：你在首页点「下载语言包」、或在「语言」里点「下载」后，透镜翻译会先列出要下载的语言和大约大小，请你确认；之后系统还会再确认一次。选「以后再说」就什么都不下载。建议连接 Wi-Fi。下载完成后，断网也能翻译。

先切到其他 App，窗口通常会自动打开。如果仍然没有，回到透镜翻译点「关闭透镜」后重新开启。在 iPad 上，透镜翻译的窗口和别的 App 并排显示时，译文直接显示在透镜翻译的窗口里，只有透镜翻译退到后台时才会打开画中画。

• 点首页主卡上的语言胶囊（显示如「自动识别 → 简体中文」），确认屏幕文字对应的语言包已下载完成。识别到没有语言包的语言时，窗口顶部会提示下载哪一种。
• 使用「画中画附近」时，请把窗口放在文字正下方；也可以试试「整个屏幕」。
• 原文语言会自动识别。如果认错（例如纯汉字的日文），点语言胶囊，在「原文语言」里手动指定。

部分 App 会禁止录屏（例如部分流媒体视频），iOS 会对所有屏幕共享隐藏这些内容，透镜翻译因此无法读取。这种情况下语音翻译可能仍然可用（见下文）。

字幕模式（Loupe Pro）不把译文贴回原位，而是在窗口里排成一块大字面板。在首页主卡上、「开启透镜」上方点「显示方式」胶囊（没改过时显示「贴回原位」），选「字幕」；也可以在「设置」›「显示方式」里选，iPad 上透镜翻译的窗口显示译文时，工具条里也有「显示方式」按钮。打开「显示原文」，每句译文上方会加一行原文。没有 Loupe Pro 时选「字幕」会打开 Loupe Pro 页面，购买后回到显示方式页，「字幕」已经选好。

• 「固定区域」：窗口是一条横条（2.5:1），新句从底部出现，旧句上移变暗，像看字幕。
• 「画中画附近」和「整个屏幕」：窗口是 16:10 的卡片，按阅读顺序列出文字。滚动页面时面板跟着平滑滑动，读过的留在上方变暗。打开系统的「减弱动态效果」（设置 › 辅助功能 › 动态效果）后改为淡入淡出。
• 在 iPad 上，透镜翻译的窗口显示在屏幕上时，面板铺满这个窗口。
• 透镜开着时订阅到期，这一场会保持字幕直到关闭透镜；下一场按「贴回原位」显示。

两台设备要连同一个 Wi-Fi。公共 Wi-Fi、酒店 Wi-Fi 常常隔离设备，部分路由器也会拦截，这时可以打开运行透镜翻译的 iPhone 或 iPad（需蜂窝网络机型）的个人热点、让另一台设备连上来，再重新打开链接。网址要按页面上显示的原样输入，包括端口和后面那段口令。链接每次开启都会变，上一次的链接会失效，请在透镜翻译首页重新查看当前链接。关闭透镜即结束同传。

显示方式选「字幕」时，另一台设备的网页上显示识别出的原文和译文文字，可以选中、复制，并按你的阅读位置自动滚动；你自己滚动网页后就不再跟随，阅读位置回到视野里再恢复。网页会保留当前页面已经翻过的文字，最多 64 条，只在内存里，换页或关闭透镜时清掉。选「贴回原位」时，网页照旧显示译文画面的图片。两种方式都不会离开你的局域网。

语音翻译把其他 App 播放的声音、或者身边的人讲的话变成字幕，可以显示译文，也可以只看原文。字幕模式（Loupe Pro）是屏幕翻译的一种显示方式：把屏幕上文字的译文排成一块大字面板。语音翻译包含在免费版每天 5 分钟里；Loupe Pro 两种模式都不限时长。

切到「语音翻译」，「音频来源」选「身边讲话」，选好讲话的语言，点「开始收音」。透镜翻译用麦克风把身边的人说的话实时转成字幕并翻译，当面聊天、听讲座、跟导游都可以，不需要屏幕共享。字幕整屏大字显示；切到其他 App，字幕在画中画小窗里继续。如果画中画开不出来（比如别的 App 正在用画中画），收音会停止，回到透镜翻译重新开始即可。点「结束」收尾；开着「保存字幕记录」时，这一场会存进「字幕记录」。

只有「身边讲话」会用麦克风，第一次点「开始收音」时透镜翻译才会请求权限。声音只在本机识别，不录音、不保存、不上传；点「结束」即停止收音。屏幕翻译和「手机声音」从不使用麦克风。如果之前拒绝了，可以在「设置 › 隐私与安全性 › 麦克风」里打开。

• 确认视频还在播放。有些 App（比如 Safari）切走后会自动暂停，回去点一下播放。
• 有些 App 在屏幕共享时会自己停播或静音，透镜翻译就听不到它的声音。
• 确认屏幕共享还开着（状态栏有提示）。如果能听到说话但字幕不对，点语言胶囊检查「视频里说的语言」是否选对。

App 禁止录屏的视频，iOS 会在屏幕共享中隐藏画面，但声音往往仍会共享，所以屏幕翻译读不了的地方，语音翻译常常可以用。也有 App 一检测到屏幕共享就静音或停播，这种情况透镜翻译无法配字幕。无论哪种情况，字幕只显示在你的设备上，不录制任何内容。

iOS 同一时间只能显示一个画中画窗口。如果视频 App 在你离开时会自动开启自己的画中画，它会把透镜翻译的字幕窗顶掉，字幕随之停止。请在这个视频 App 自己的设置里关掉自动画中画，再重新开启字幕。发生这种情况时，透镜翻译首页也会提示你。

界面支持简体中文、繁體中文、English、日本語、한국어、Tiếng Việt、Español、Français、ไทย、Deutsch、Português (Brasil)、Türkçe、Bahasa Indonesia、العربية。可翻译 Apple 端侧翻译支持的语言，包括日语、韩语、中文、英语、西班牙语、法语、德语、泰语、越南语等。语音翻译能识别英语、中文、日语、韩语、西班牙语、法语、德语等多种语言，使用前选好讲话的语言。

四种翻译范围和语音翻译（两种音频来源）都能免费使用，译文贴回原位显示。免费版两种模式合计每天 5 分钟，只在真正翻译时计时：屏幕翻译和「手机声音」在翻译其他 App 时计时，「身边讲话」在给讲话出字幕时计时；每天当地时间 0 点重置。Loupe Pro 取消每日时长限制，并增加字幕模式：译文排成一块大字面板，可对照原文（首页主卡点「显示方式」胶囊，选「字幕」）。

用购买时的 Apple 账户登录，在 Loupe Pro 页面或透镜翻译的「设置」里点「恢复购买」。

打开「设置」App › 你的名字 › 订阅，选择透镜翻译，在续期前至少 24 小时取消。退款由 Apple 处理：reportaproblem.apple.com。

不会。文字识别和翻译全部在本机完成，屏幕画面不会发给我们，也不会保存成截图或录像。唯一的例外是你主动选择的局域网同传：译文画面（字幕模式下是文字字幕）直接发到你局域网里打开链接的设备，不经过我们的任何服务器。语音翻译的「手机声音」不用麦克风，在本机识别其他 App 播放的声音；「身边讲话」只在收音时使用麦克风。两种来源的声音都只在本机识别，不录音、不保存、不上传；字幕记录只保存在本机，不会上传，可以随时删除。无需账号，没有统计和广告。详见隐私政策。
