1Screen content

• When you start Loupe, iOS or iPadOS asks you to confirm screen sharing. Only then does Loupe’s screen sharing extension receive images of your screen.
• These images are processed on your device only, to find text and show its translation in the Picture in Picture window or, on iPad, in the Loupe window.
• Translate Image works on one image you choose in Photos or pass from a shortcut. Loupe gets only that image, keeps it in memory and discards it when you close the result, unless you share or save it yourself. It has no access to the rest of your photos.
• Only while Loupe is translating, the screen sharing extension passes images to the app through a fixed-size shared-memory buffer inside the app’s private App Group container on your device. The buffer holds only the latest frame, and each new frame overwrites the previous one. When you stop Loupe, the buffer is cleared and deleted. Only Loupe can access it.
• So the Fixed Area editor can show your real screen, Loupe keeps a few reduced copies of recent screens in memory while translating. They are never written to disk. They are discarded about 5 minutes after you stop, when you start again, or when the app closes; if iOS has suspended Loupe by then, they go as soon as it runs again.
• Screen content is never saved as screenshots or recordings, never uploaded, and never used for any other purpose. It is not shared with anyone, except through LAN Live (section 4) when you turn it on, and then only within your local network.
• You can stop at any time by tapping Stop Loupe, closing the Picture in Picture window, or stopping screen sharing from the status bar.

2Sound from other apps (Speech captions: Phone Audio)

• With the Phone Audio source, Speech captions turn the audio that other apps play on your device into subtitles. They start only after you tap Start Captions and confirm screen sharing in iOS or iPadOS. In this mode, Loupe’s screen sharing extension passes on only the apps’ audio; screen images are discarded and not read.
• Phone Audio does not use the microphone, and nothing is recorded. The audio is processed only on your device, by Apple’s on-device speech recognition, and is never saved or uploaded.
• While captions run, the extension passes the audio to the app through a fixed-size shared-memory buffer inside the app’s private App Group container. The buffer holds only the last few seconds, which are overwritten continuously, and it is deleted when captions stop. Only Loupe can access it.
• The recognized text and its translation, from either audio source, are saved as a transcript on your device only, so you can look back at past sessions in Transcripts: the time, the languages and each line with its timing. Transcripts stay in the app’s private storage on your device, are never uploaded, and are not included in iCloud or computer backups. Loupe keeps the latest 200 sessions and deletes older ones automatically. You can delete one session, or all of them in Settings, and turn off Save Transcripts so new sessions aren’t saved. The sound itself is never saved. If you choose Copy or Export, the text goes to the clipboard or the system share sheet, and you decide where it goes from there.
• Key points, if you tap them, are summarized on your device by Apple’s on-device language model (available on devices that support Apple Intelligence) and saved with that session’s transcript.
• The speech model for each spoken language is downloaded by iOS from Apple after you confirm, and is shared with other apps on your device. That download is handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy.

3Microphone (Speech captions: Nearby Speech)

• Loupe uses the microphone only for the Nearby Speech audio source, and only after you tap Start Listening. iOS or iPadOS asks for your permission the first time, and you can turn it off anytime in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone. Screen translation and Phone Audio never use the microphone, and Nearby Speech does not use screen sharing.
• The sound is processed only on your device, by Apple’s on-device speech recognition, to show live captions and their translation. It is never recorded, saved or uploaded.
• Loupe listens while the captions are on screen in Loupe or in the Picture in Picture window. When you tap End, or if Picture in Picture can’t appear after you leave the app, Loupe stops listening and releases the microphone. While the microphone is in use, iOS shows its indicator.
• Only the recognized text and its translation can be kept: as a transcript on your device, and only while Save Transcripts is on (section 2). The sound itself is never saved.

4LAN Live (optional, off by default)

• LAN Live is one of the reading scopes you can choose. It is off unless you pick it.
• While it is on, Loupe runs a small web server on your iPhone or iPad, shows you a link with the device’s local network address, and sends the translation to devices that open that link: as images of the translated screen or, if you choose Subtitles, as the recognized text and its translation. The link contains a random password that is new for every session.
• With Subtitles, the web page keeps the text of the current page that you have already read (up to 64 items), so the viewer can scroll back. Loupe holds this text only in memory and clears it when the page changes or you stop Loupe; it is never written to disk, and the web page does not save it.
• The connection is plain HTTP inside your local network and is not encrypted, so anyone who has the link and is on the same network can watch. Use it on a network you trust, or on your own Personal Hotspot.
• Nothing leaves your local network: the images or text go directly from your device to the other device. They do not pass through us, and we have no servers involved.
• Stopping Loupe stops the server and invalidates the password, so the old link no longer works.

5Recognition and translation

Text recognition uses Apple’s on-device Vision framework, speech recognition uses Apple’s on-device Speech framework, and translation uses Apple’s on-device Translation framework. Translation language packs are downloaded by iOS from Apple; that download is handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. After a language pack is downloaded, translation works offline.

Translation services you connect (optional, off by default)

In Settings you can connect an outside translation service with your own account and API key, such as an AI model provider, DeepL, Google Translate or your own server. Nothing is sent to any of them unless you connect one and select it. Loupe asks you to confirm before sending anything to a new address.

• Screen translation and Translate Image: the text recognized on screen is sent directly from your device to the service you selected. Images of your screen are never sent. With an AI model, the last few lines translated in this session are sent along so names and tone stay consistent, and so are your story background and the glossary terms that appear in the text, if you wrote them.
• Speech captions: if you select a service for Speech, the audio is sent directly from your device to that service for recognition and translation. With on-device speech, it is not.
• That service receives the data under its own terms and privacy policy, and bills you directly. We do not operate these services and receive nothing from them.
• Your API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and sent only to the service they belong to. Select on-device translation or delete the connection to stop.

Apple Cloud (optional, off by default)

If you select “Apple Cloud” as the translation engine, the text recognized on screen, plus your story background and glossary terms if you wrote them, is sent to Apple’s Private Cloud Compute for translation. Images of your screen are never sent. Apple handles it under the Apple Privacy Policy and states that Private Cloud Compute does not store it or make it accessible to Apple. We receive nothing. The “Apple Intelligence” engine runs on your device and sends nothing.

6Information stored on your device

Loupe keeps a small amount of information on your device so the app works. None of it is sent to us.

• App Group storage (shared only between the Loupe app and its screen sharing extension): your settings (interface language, translation languages, mode, reading scope and the fixed area you mark, display style and Show original, the audio source, spoken language, caption style and Save Transcripts for Speech captions, when each speech model was last used, appearance), the current session state, your daily free usage counter, and a cached copy of your Loupe Pro status so the app opens quickly.
• Keychain: the date and the number of free seconds used that day, so the daily free limit is not reset by reinstalling. iOS may keep this Keychain item after the app is deleted; it contains no personal information.
• Transcripts (the app’s private Application Support folder, not shared with the extension, excluded from iCloud and computer backups): the text of your Speech captions sessions and their key points, up to the latest 200 sessions (section 2). Save Transcripts, your choice to keep them, is stored with your other settings.
• Translation services you connect (private to the app): the service addresses and models you chose, your story background and glossary, and token counts for the usage record. Translated text is not recorded. API keys are in the Keychain.
• The app’s own settings storage (UserDefaults, private to the app): your interface language for iOS, and for the App Store rating request a count of sessions in which Loupe translated, a “ready to ask” flag and the app version last asked. The rating prompt and any review you write are handled by Apple.

7Purchases

Loupe Pro subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, Apple Account, or payment details. The app uses Apple’s StoreKit on your device to check whether you have Loupe Pro.

8No tracking, analytics, or advertising

• No account or sign-in.
• No third-party SDKs, analytics, crash-reporting services, or advertising.
• No tracking across apps or websites, and no data sold or shared.
• The app does not send data to servers operated by us.

9Children

Loupe is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

10Your choices

You can delete a transcript by swiping it left in Transcripts or from its page, and delete all of them with Clear All Transcripts in Settings. Deleting Loupe from your device deletes its settings, transcripts, session state, rating request counter and cached Loupe Pro status. The only exception is the small Keychain item described in section 6 (today’s date and free seconds used), which the system may keep after the app is deleted; it contains no personal information and only affects the daily free limit. Speech models belong to iOS and are shared with other apps, so iOS manages them. Subscriptions can be managed or canceled in your Apple Account settings.

• 只在翻译进行时，屏幕共享扩展通过本机 App 专属共享容器（App Group）里一块固定大小的共享内存缓冲区把画面传给 App。缓冲区只保留最新的一帧，新画面会不断覆盖旧画面；关闭透镜时即清空并删除。只有透镜翻译可以访问它。
• 为了让固定区域的编辑页显示真实画面，翻译进行时透镜翻译会在内存里留几张缩小的最近画面，不写入磁盘。关闭透镜约 5 分钟后、下次开启时或 App 退出时丢弃；如果那时 iOS 已经把透镜翻译挂起，等它再次运行就丢弃。
• 屏幕画面不会保存成截图或录像，不会上传，也不会用于任何其他用途；除了你自己开启的局域网同传（第 4 节，只在你的局域网内），不会分享给任何人。
• 你可以随时点「关闭透镜」、关掉画中画窗口，或在状态栏停止屏幕共享来结束。

2其他 App 的声音（语音翻译：手机声音）

• 选择「手机声音」来源时，语音翻译把其他 App 在你设备上播放的声音变成字幕。只有你点「开启字幕」并在 iOS 或 iPadOS 里确认屏幕共享之后才会开始。这个模式下，透镜翻译的屏幕共享扩展只转发 App 的声音，屏幕画面直接丢弃、不读取。
• 「手机声音」不使用麦克风，也不录音。声音只在你的设备上由 Apple 端侧语音识别处理，不会保存，也不会上传。
• 字幕进行时，屏幕共享扩展通过本机 App 专属共享容器（App Group）里一块固定大小的共享内存缓冲区把声音传给 App。缓冲区只保留最近几秒，新的声音不断覆盖旧的；关闭字幕时即删除。只有透镜翻译可以访问它。
• 两种来源识别出的原文和译文都会作为字幕记录只保存在你的设备上，方便你在「字幕记录」里回看以前的场次：时间、语言和每一句及其时间点。字幕记录放在 App 自己的私有存储里，不会上传，也不包含在 iCloud 或电脑备份中。透镜翻译最多保留最近 200 场，更早的自动删除。你可以删除单场，或在设置里清除全部；也可以关掉「保存字幕记录」，之后的场次就不再保存。声音本身从不保存。你选择「复制」或「导出」时，文字会交给剪贴板或系统分享面板，之后发往哪里由你决定。

3麦克风（语音翻译：身边讲话）

• 只有在语音翻译选择「身边讲话」来源、并且你点了「开始收音」之后，透镜翻译才会使用麦克风。第一次使用时 iOS 或 iPadOS 会请你授权，之后可以随时在「设置 › 隐私与安全性 › 麦克风」里关闭。屏幕翻译和「手机声音」从不使用麦克风；「身边讲话」也不使用屏幕共享。
• 收到的声音只在你的设备上由 Apple 端侧语音识别处理，用来显示实时字幕和译文；不录音、不保存，也不上传。
• 字幕显示在透镜翻译里或画中画小窗里时会持续收音。点「结束」，或离开 App 后画中画没能出现时，透镜翻译即停止收音并释放麦克风。麦克风使用期间，iOS 会显示麦克风指示。
• 能留下来的只有识别出的原文和译文：仅在「保存字幕记录」开启时，作为字幕记录保存在本机（第 2 节）。声音本身从不保存。

4局域网同传（可选，默认关闭）

• 「局域网同传」是翻译范围里的一个选项，你不选它就不会开启。
• 开启期间，透镜翻译会在你的 iPhone 或 iPad 上运行一个小型网页服务，给出一条带本机局域网地址的链接，把译文发给打开这条链接的设备：平时是译文画面的图片，选了「字幕」时是识别出的原文和译文文字。链接里带一个随机口令，每次开启都会重新生成。
• 选了「字幕」时，网页会保留当前页面上已经翻过的文字（最多 64 条），方便对方往回看。透镜翻译只把这些文字放在内存里，换页或关闭透镜时即清除，不会写入磁盘；网页也不会保存它们。
• 这条连接是局域网内的普通 HTTP，没有加密：同一网络里拿到链接的人都能看到译文。请在你信任的网络里使用，或让对方连你的个人热点。
• 画面和文字都不会离开你的局域网：它们直接从你的设备发到另一台设备，不经过我们，我们也没有参与其中的服务器。
• 关闭透镜即停止服务并作废口令，旧链接随即失效。

5识别与翻译

文字识别使用 Apple 端侧 Vision 框架，语音识别使用 Apple 端侧 Speech 框架，翻译使用 Apple 端侧 Translation 框架。翻译语言包由 iOS 从 Apple 下载，这一过程由 Apple 按照 Apple 隐私政策 处理。语言包下载完成后，离线也能翻译。

你连接的翻译服务（可选，默认关闭）

你可以在设置里用自己的账号和 API key 连接外部翻译服务，例如大模型服务商、DeepL、Google 翻译或你自己的服务器。除非你连接并选中，否则不会向任何一家发送内容。第一次向新地址发送前，透镜翻译会先请你确认。

• 屏幕翻译和翻译图片：屏幕上识别出的文字会从你的设备直接发送到你选中的服务，屏幕画面不会发送。使用大模型时，这一场刚翻过的几句也会一起发送，让人名和语气前后一致；如果你写了故事背景和术语表，背景和文字里出现的术语也会一起发送。
• 语音翻译：如果你为语音翻译选了服务，声音会从你的设备直接发送到该服务识别和翻译；使用本机识别时不会发送。
• 该服务按它自己的条款和隐私政策处理这些数据，并直接向你收费。这些服务不由我们运营，我们也不会从中收到任何内容。
• API key 保存在你设备上的 iOS 钥匙串里，只发送给它对应的服务。选回本机翻译或删除连接即可停止。

Apple 云端（可选，默认关闭）

如果你把翻译引擎选为「Apple 云端」，屏幕上识别出的文字（以及你写的故事背景和术语表）会发送到 Apple 的私密云计算（Private Cloud Compute）翻译，屏幕画面不会发送。Apple 按照 Apple 隐私政策 处理；Apple 说明私密云计算不保存这些内容，Apple 也无法访问。我们不会收到任何内容。「Apple 智能」引擎在你的设备上运行，不发送任何内容。

6保存在你设备上的信息

为了让 App 正常工作，透镜翻译会在你的设备上保存少量信息，这些信息都不会发送给我们。

• App Group 存储（仅透镜翻译 App 与其屏幕共享扩展之间共用）：你的设置（界面语言、翻译语言、模式、翻译范围与你框定的固定区域、显示方式与「显示原文」、语音翻译的音频来源、说话语言、字幕样式与「保存字幕记录」、各识别模型上次使用的时间、外观）、当前会话状态、每日免费用量计数，以及 Loupe Pro 状态的缓存（让 App 打开时立即显示）。
• 钥匙串：当天日期和已用的免费秒数，避免重装 App 重置每日免费额度。删除 App 后 iOS 可能保留这一钥匙串项目，其中不含任何个人信息。
• 字幕记录（App 私有的 Application Support 文件夹，不与扩展共用，不包含在 iCloud 和电脑备份中）：语音翻译各场的文字和要点，最多保留最近 200 场（第 2 节）。「保存字幕记录」这个选择和其他设置存在一起。
• 你连接的翻译服务（仅本应用可访问）：你选的服务地址和模型、故事背景和术语表，以及用量记录里的 token 数。不记录翻译内容。API key 在钥匙串里。
• App 自身的设置存储（UserDefaults，仅本应用可访问）：给系统用的界面语言，以及 App Store 评分请求用的使用次数、「待请求」标记和上次请求时的版本号。评分弹窗与你写的评价都由 Apple 处理。

7购买

Loupe Pro 订阅与买断由 Apple 通过 App Store 处理。我们不会获得你的姓名、Apple 账户或支付信息。本应用在设备上使用 Apple StoreKit 确认你是否拥有 Loupe Pro。

8无追踪、无统计、无广告

• 无需注册或登录账号。
• 不含任何第三方 SDK、统计分析、崩溃上报服务或广告。
• 不跨 App 或网站追踪你，不出售或分享任何数据。
• 本应用不会向我们运营的服务器发送数据。

9儿童

透镜翻译适合所有年龄段，不会有意收集任何人（包括儿童）的信息。

10你的选择

在「字幕记录」里左滑或在那一场的页面里可以删除单场字幕记录，在设置里点「清除全部记录」可以全部删除。从设备上删除透镜翻译会删除它的设置、字幕记录、会话状态、评分请求计数和 Loupe Pro 状态缓存。唯一的例外是第 6 节所述的钥匙串小条目（当天日期和已用的免费秒数），删除 App 后系统可能保留它；其中不含任何个人信息，只用于每日免费额度。识别模型属于 iOS、与其他 App 共用，由 iOS 管理。订阅可在 Apple 账户设置中管理或取消。

1螢幕畫面

4區域網路同傳（選用，預設關閉）

5辨識與翻譯

文字辨識使用 Apple 裝置端 Vision 框架，語音辨識使用 Apple 裝置端 Speech 框架，翻譯使用 Apple 裝置端 Translation 框架。翻譯語言包由 iOS 從 Apple 下載，這個過程由 Apple 依照 Apple 隱私權政策 處理。語言包下載完成後，離線也能翻譯。

• 螢幕翻譯和翻譯圖片：螢幕上辨識出的文字會從你的裝置直接傳送到你選取的服務，螢幕畫面不會傳送。使用大模型時，這一場剛翻過的幾句也會一起傳送，讓人名和語氣前後一致；如果你寫了故事背景和術語表，背景和文字裡出現的術語也會一起傳送。
• 語音翻譯：如果你為語音翻譯選了服務，聲音會從你的裝置直接傳送到該服務辨識和翻譯；使用本機辨識時不會傳送。
• 該服務按它自己的條款和隱私權政策處理這些資料，並直接向你收費。這些服務不由我們營運，我們也不會從中收到任何內容。
• API 金鑰儲存在你裝置上的 iOS 鑰匙圈裡，只傳送給它對應的服務。選回本機翻譯或刪除連接即可停止。

Apple 雲端（選用，預設關閉）

如果你把翻譯引擎選為「Apple 雲端」，螢幕上辨識出的文字（以及你寫的故事背景和術語表）會傳送到 Apple 的私密雲端運算（Private Cloud Compute）翻譯，螢幕畫面不會傳送。Apple 按照 Apple 隱私權政策 處理；Apple 說明私密雲端運算不會保存這些內容，Apple 也無法存取。我們不會收到任何內容。「Apple Intelligence」引擎在你的裝置上執行，不傳送任何內容。

6儲存在你裝置上的資訊

為了讓 App 正常運作，透鏡翻譯會在你的裝置上儲存少量資訊，這些資訊都不會傳送給我們。

• App Group 儲存空間（僅透鏡翻譯 App 與其螢幕共享延伸功能之間共用）：你的設定（介面語言、翻譯語言、模式、翻譯範圍與你框選的固定區域、顯示方式與「顯示原文」、語音翻譯的音訊來源、說話語言、字幕樣式與「儲存字幕記錄」、各辨識模型上次使用的時間、外觀）、目前的工作階段狀態、每日免費用量計數，以及 Loupe Pro 狀態的快取（讓 App 開啟時立即顯示）。
• 鑰匙圈：當天日期與已使用的免費秒數，避免重新安裝 App 重設每日免費額度。刪除 App 後 iOS 可能保留這個鑰匙圈項目，其中不含任何個人資訊。
• 字幕記錄（App 私有的 Application Support 檔案夾，不與延伸功能共用，不包含在 iCloud 與電腦備份中）：語音翻譯各場的文字與重點，最多保留最近 200 場（第 2 節）。「儲存字幕記錄」這個選擇和其他設定存在一起。
• 你連接的翻譯服務（僅本應用程式可存取）：你選的服務位址和模型、故事背景和術語表，以及用量記錄裡的 token 數。不記錄翻譯內容。API 金鑰在鑰匙圈裡。
• App 自身的設定儲存空間（UserDefaults，僅本應用程式可存取）：提供給系統的介面語言，以及 App Store 評分請求用的使用次數、「待請求」標記和上次請求時的版本號。評分提示與你寫的評論都由 Apple 處理。

7購買

Loupe Pro 訂閱與終身購買由 Apple 透過 App Store 處理。我們不會取得你的姓名、Apple 帳號或付款資訊。本應用程式在裝置上使用 Apple StoreKit 確認你是否擁有 Loupe Pro。

8無追蹤、無分析、無廣告

• 不需要註冊或登入帳號。
• 不含任何第三方 SDK、分析、當機回報服務或廣告。
• 不會跨 App 或網站追蹤你，不出售或分享任何資料。
• 本應用程式不會向我們營運的伺服器傳送資料。

9兒童

透鏡翻譯適合所有年齡層，不會刻意收集任何人（包括兒童）的資訊。

10你的選擇

在「字幕記錄」裡左滑或在那一場的頁面裡可以刪除單場字幕記錄，在設定裡點「清除全部記錄」可以全部刪除。從裝置上刪除透鏡翻譯，會一併刪除它的設定、字幕記錄、工作階段狀態、評分請求計數與 Loupe Pro 狀態快取。唯一的例外是第 6 節所述的鑰匙圈小項目（當天日期與已使用的免費秒數），刪除 App 後系統可能保留它；其中不含任何個人資訊，只用於每日免費額度。辨識模型屬於 iOS、與其他 App 共用，由 iOS 管理。訂閱可在 Apple 帳號設定中管理或取消。
